Indirect Speech: He told me that they loved their lovely motherland.
Basic Structure : Sub + Verb + Obj + Conjunction + Person change + Tense change + Extension + full stop ( . ).

⟴মনে রাখার মতো::
- Indirect Narration এ নিম্নোক্ত পাঁচ প্রকার বাক্যই Assertive Sentence এ রূপান্তরিত হবে।
- উপরের বেসিক গঠনটি সর্ব প্রকার বাক্যের ন্যারেশন পরিবর্তনের জন্য প্রযোজ্য।
- শুধু মাত্র Interrogative Sentence এবং Imperative Sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে Verb দ্বারা বাক্য শুরু হলে Inverted Comma ('' ") এর স্থলে that বসে না। বাকি সব ক্ষেত্রেই Conjunction হিসেবে That বসে।
- নিচের ছকে Verb বলতে ‘said to’ পরিবর্তিত হয়ে বাক্য অনুযায়ী যে রূপে পরিবর্তিত হবে তা নির্দেশ করছে।
➧➧Changes of Reporting verb & Conjunctions in accordance with different sentences:
NB: Here 'I/O' stands for Indirect Object.
1. Assertive sentence:
a) Direct Speech: He said to me, "I ate the food."
Indirect Speech: He told me that he had eaten the food.
2. Interrogative sentence:
a) Direct Speech: He said to you, "Are you OK?"
Indirect Speech: He asked you if you were OK.
b) Direct Speech: I said to him, "What is the problem?"
Indirect Speech: I asked him what the problem was.
3. Imperative sentence:
a) Direct Speech: He said to me,"Please, stay here."
Indirect Speech: He requested me to stay there.
b) Direct Speech: He said to Helal, "Let me help him."
Indirect Speech: He told Helal that he might help him.
c) Direct Speech: David said to me, "Let's make a business profile."
a) Direct Speech: Father said to me, "May Allah bless you."
Indirect Speech: Father prayed me that Allah might bless me.
5. Exclamatory sentence:
a) Direct Speech: She said to me, "What a beautiful girl Shammi is!"

[Let us যুক্ত Direct Speech এর ক্ষেত্রে যদি Verb এর Subject এবং Object উভয়ই 3rd Person (he/she/it/they/any noun etc.) হয় তবে, Us পরিবর্তন হয়ে They হয়ে যায়।]
d) Direct Speech: Mila said to him, "Let's watch a movie."
Indirect Speech : Mila Proposed to him that they should watch a movie.
4. Optative sentence:[Let us যুক্ত Direct Speech এর ক্ষেত্রে যদি Verb এর Subject এবং Object উভয়ই 3rd Person (he/she/it/they/any noun etc.) হয় তবে, Us পরিবর্তন হয়ে They হয়ে যায়।]
d) Direct Speech: Mila said to him, "Let's watch a movie."
Indirect Speech : Mila Proposed to him that they should watch a movie.
a) Direct Speech: Father said to me, "May Allah bless you."
Indirect Speech: Father prayed me that Allah might bless me.
5. Exclamatory sentence:
a) Direct Speech: She said to me, "What a beautiful girl Shammi is!"
Indirect Speech: She exclaimed with joy/wonder that Shammi
was a very beautiful girl.
Changing of some words in passage narration:
Direct Speech:
"Hello, Sumon", he said to him. "Good morning!" "Are you going to school?" "Yes, our class party will hold today", he said.
Indirect Speech:
Addressing him as Sumon, he greeted him and wished him good morning and asked him if he was going to school. Sumon replied in the affirmative and told him that their class party would hold that day.
NB: Basically, we use "and" instead of full stop (.) if there are more speeches from the same speaker.
