Music is basically vocal or instrumental sounds or both combined in such a way that produces beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion. On the contrary, folk music is different. This music is usually of unknown authorship and is transmitted orally from generation to generation. Not only that, folk music consists of songs and music of a community that are uninfluenced by any elegant musical rules or any standard music styles. In Bangladesh, we have a heritage of rich music which includes both religious and secular songs. Again, folk music can be described as that type of ancient music which derives from the heart of a community, based on their natural style of expression and uninfluenced by any classic music and modern popular songs. Folk music has several significant characteristics. In Bangladesh folk music has great variety, with songs being composed on the culture, festivals, views of life, natural beauty, rural and riverine life. These songs are also about the material world and the supernatural as well. Another remarkable aspect of this format of music is that it can be performed individually or in chorus. There are different sorts of folk music which can be sung individually and they are Baul, Bhatiyali, Murshidi and Marfati. Whereas Kabigan, Leto, Alkap and Gambhira can be sung in chorus. In our country, we have got some legendary mystic poets and composers of folk music, they are- Baul Shah Abdul Karim, Hasan Raja and Fakir Lalon Shah. This vast and ancient folk music has also been influenced by the culture and the lifestyle of different tribes such as, Santal, Garo, Hajong, Chakma, Monipuri, etc. In fine (পরিশেষে), though the pop and band music nowadays is grabbing the entire music sector across the  globe, folk music has still its own appeal to the mass people of our country.

Adolescence

Adolescence is a transitional stage of human and usually associated with the teenage years. physical and psychological development occurs at this stage during the period from puberty to legal adulthood. The transition of physical, psychological or cultural expressions may begin earlier and end later. WHO, World Health Organization, identifies adolescence as the period of human growth and development that occurs after childhood and before adulthood. It is one of the critical transitions in one's life span. Biological processes drive many aspects of this growth and development. specific hormone releasing, growth of spurts, voice changes, development of sexual characteristics, complexion problems- are the most significant biological processes that occur in the period. The biological determinants of adolescence is fairly universal. Nevertheless, the duration and defining characteristics of this stage may vary across time, cultures and socio-economic situations. This period has seen many changes over the past century such as, puberty comes earlier than before, people marry late, and their sexual attitudes and behaviors are different from their grandparents, or even parents. The factors responsible for the change are education, urbanization, cultural diversity and global communication. In fact, adolescence is a time of tremendous growth and potential, but it is also a time of considerable risks during which social contexts exerts powerful influences. As a result, many adolescents get involved in using alcohol, cigarettes, or other drugs and to initiate sexual relationships intentionally or unintentionally which lead them to a wrong direction. As the time of adolescence is a period of preparation for adulthood during which one experiences several key changes, the parents and guardians have lots more things to do for their children. Their conscious and great care can help the adolescents to complete this critical transitional period without facing any hassle.
